Dear Tigers Community,

We are thrilled to announce that we have reached a massive milestone.
We now have over 500 registered players, the largest in our club’s history! To put that into perspective, that’s more players than the number of students at Tecoma Primary School and more than half the size of Upwey High School. This season, we are likely to field 70 teams for the first time ever.

We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to all the players, parents, and families who have supported us so far. We are a supportive community, driven by the dedication of our volunteer coaches, team managers, age group coordinators, and committee members.

However, having over 500 registered players also presents new challenges.

With approximately 70 teams, there will be increased pressure on training time slots. We ask for your patience as we work through team selections, scheduling, and other logistics.

We’d love to address everyone’s communications, but with over 500 players and the age group coordinators and committee members having full-time jobs (and their own lives), we won’t be able to answer every request individually. To reduce the workload on the core Tiger volunteer team, we will increasingly rely on referrals to existing club policies. Questions about team selections, uniforms, friendship requests, and more may be referred directly to these policies. For all club policies, please visit:

Most importantly, our growing community is currently managed by a committee of just 12 people. Please, we need your help. If you can spare some time, please join the Mountain Tigers committee. We meet once a month at the UpweyTecoma RSL to discuss and address club matters, challenges, and new ideas. Many hands make light work!

There will be follow-up messaging to this, because we will also now need 70 coaches!
